S-T-O-R-Y at a glance
There are many great storytelling frameworks but none that I could find using STORY as a guide. So I created one, based on this breakdown.
-
Who’s your character and what matters to them? What’s in the way? In the guide, you’ll get a breakdown of things to consider. (Which we talk more about when we do this LIVE, obvs.)
-
Something comes to disrupt that character’s status quo and sends them on a new mission.
-
Turns out this mission is difficult! Oh no!
-
The character resolves to make a change, often with the help of new tools and friends.
-
This is the “moral” of the story, if you will. In a business story, it’s the clincher that shows your audience why they should buy. In a keynote talk, it’s usually the final message you want people to walk away thinking about or even a catalyst for behavior change.
